Meet Val

Val is an herbalist, biodynamic gardener and artist living in Michigan's northwoods on Anishinaabek land.

She is the owner of Woodspell Apothecary where she offers potent plant tonics and herbal goods for those who wish to connect to the plant world and their own bodies' healing abilities.

She is also the host of Healer's Moon podcast where she explores the many facets of folk healing. Val keeps the values of environmental justice, social justice, and sustainability at the core of her work as she bridges the practical and the magical healing medicine of plants.

Her main aspiration within her work is to reveal the truth that we are indeed living in an enchanted world, full of spirit, memory and wisdom, and that despite the chaos of modern times, there is power in reclaiming the ability to heal ourselves and the land through the natural world.

When she is not in her garden or the apothecary, she is usually cuddling with her cats, sipping on tea, and reading a good book.
